Former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar on Sunday paid a condolence visit to the family of the late elder statesman, Alhaji Aminu Dant who died on June 29 at 94 in Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates.
Abubakar, accompanied by members of his entourage, visited the Dantata residence in Kano, where he was received by family of the deceased.
He later proceeded to the Kano State Government House to condole with Gov. Abba Kabir-Yusuf and the people of the state over the passing of the renowned businessman.
The former vice president described the deceased as an exemplary Nigerian whose business influence and philanthropy transcended national boundaries.
“He was a detribalised Nigerian who combined traditional values with modern business acumen. His generosity and service to humanity will never be forgotten,” Abubakar said.
He prayed for Allah’s forgiveness and eternal mercy upon the deceased and urged the family to take solace in the impactful life he lived.
In their responses, Gov. Yusuf and members of the Dantata family expressed appreciation to the former vice-president for the visit and his comforting words during their time of grief.
The late Aminu Dantata was buried at the Baqiyya Cemetery in Madina, Saudi Arabia.
The funeral was attended by dignitaries and loved ones who offered prayers and tributes in his honour.
