Unknown gunmen have killed General Segun Aremu, the Olukoro of Koro land, in Ekiti local government area of Kwara state.
The Kwara traditional ruler was reportedly murdered Thursday night in his palace by yet to be identified assailants.
Report says the suspected kidnappers later ransacked the palace and went away with the monarch’s wife and two others persons after their dastardly act.
The ugly development occurred few days after two traditional rulers were killed by suspected gunmen at Ikole Ekiti, Ekiti State.

Meanwhile, Kwara state government has confirmed the killing of the deceased monarch.
A release by Rafiu Ajakaye, spokesman to Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq said “The governor condemns the killing of Olukoro of Koro in Ekiti Local Government, General Segun Aremu (rtd).
“The monarch was reportedly shot dead in his palace on Thursday night by some unknown gunmen, who also whisked away his wife and two others.
“The governor condemned the development, which he said was reckless, shocking, and abominable,” he added.
