AKTH Staff Multipurpose Cooperative Society Limited has reached a milestone, declaring over ₦1 billion in savings from its members. This impressive achievement was announced during the 2024 annual general meeting held at the AKTH conference room.
Malam Shehu Bala, Director Cooperative of the hospital, attributed the society’s success to its numerous activities aimed at improving members’ lives. The society’s remarkable performance is evident in its developmental projects.
Professor Abdurrahman Abba Sheshe, Chief Medical Director of Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital, represented by the Deputy Chairman Medical Advisory Committee (CMAC), Dr. Dalha Halliru Gwarzo, highlighted the cooperative society’s impact on staff dedication. “The effort of the cooperative society helped members of staff to be dedicated to their duties as their savings allow them to build other businesses during retirement,” he said.

The society’s president, Malam Kabiru Abba Yakasai, encouraged members to increase their shares for higher returns and announced plans to boost investment horizons in real estate and bakery sectors.
