The Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT) on Thursday directed the suspension of Muhuyi Magaji Rimin Gado as Chairman of the Kano State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission.
The anti-graft agency boss was arraigned on Thursday over an alleged breach of the code of conduct for public officers, conflict of interest, abuse of office, false asset declaration, bribery and accepting gifts, among others financial misappropriation running into N390 million.

The Tribunal granted the Complainant’s application directing the defendant to step aside as the Chairman of the Public Complaint and Anti-Corruption Commission of Kano state over the allegation of contravening the provisions of the Code of Conduct Bureau and Tribunal Act CAP C15 LFN 2004 pending the hearing and determination of the case against the Defendant/Respondent that is pending before this Tribunal.
An Order directing the Executive Governor of Kano state and the Secretary to the Government of Kano state to take all necessary steps to appoint the most appropriate officer to take over as Acting Chairman of the Public Complaint and Anti-Corruption Commission pending the hearing and determination of the case against the Defendant/Respondent that is pending before this Tribunal.
In November, 2023, the Code of Conduct Tribunal CCT filed and notice of commencement of trial against Rimin-Gado over the alleged financial irregularity and other offences. The notice signed by CCT registrar, Binta Garba A. the defendant is being summoned to answer questions on 10 count charges including illegal deposits of over N390 Million into an account reflecting his name and inflation of contract charge among other charges.
In the charge as quoted ” Magaji whilst being the executive chairman of public complaints and anti-corruption commission of Kano state and thereby as public officer on or about 19th day of March, 2021 you put yourself in a position where personal interest conflicted with the discharge of your duties and responsibilities in that you applied and got approval for the payment of the sum of N1,766,666.06″.
