Azman Air Gets AOC to Restart Operations After Six Months Suspension

A Kano-based airline, Azman Air is set to hit the sky again for its regular commercial flight operations having renewed its Global Safety Standards certificate.

Azman Air, one of the pride local operators is restarting the air transport to its esteem customers delight after surviving a six months total lock down of business activities.

Announcing the cheering news on its social media platform on Thursday, Azman Air was delighted to inform  air passengers that all is set for renewed flying  experience again.

In the short notice, the management disclosed that Azman has fulfilled all safety requirements and glad to receive the Airline Operators Certificate from the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA).

“Having satisfied the requirements in accordance to Global Safety Standards; The Airline Operators Certificate of Azman Air has been renewed by NCAA today 29th Feb.2024

Azman Air Services Limited suspended operations August, 2023 and directed all it staff to embark on compulsory leave without pay, citing technical challenges.

Azman Assistant General Manager, Engr. Nurudeen Aliyu told journalists that the decision became necessary owing factors, including the ongoing C-checks on its aircraft and the high cost of operations.

According to him, ” We have temporarily suspended the operation, and it was due to all our 737 we are using for domestic operation are due for C-checks”.

Aliyu explained that the airline had already sent two of its aircraft to a maintenance facility in Turkey, but the process was delayed due to a queue in the maintenance hangar.

“The other two we are using here are also due for maintenance, and we are trying to send them for C-checks also. Also, one of the aircraft has achieved 90 percent completion so we are expecting two of the aircraft to be back in Octoberfest,” He added.
