A building under construction has collapsed, killing seven persons including the owner of the structure in Kano
The collapse, which occurred during heavy rainfall on Friday morning at Kunto quarters, in Gwale local government area also left eight others injured, currently receiving treatment at Murtala Muhammad Specialist Hospital.

The seven deceased victims include three workers, the owner of the building, Sharu Aminu and three passersby who sought shelter from the rain were confirmed dead.
It was gathered that the owner of the building, Sharu who was there to inspect the ongoing work was buried after Friday prayer in the metropolis.
However, preliminary reports indicated that the collapse was due to the use of substandard building materials.
A statement issued by the spokesman of Kano Fire Service, Saminu Yusuf Abdullahi confirmed the incident was reported at about 11.50 am on Friday.
