Defunct CPC Forum Backs Tinubu’s Reforms, Reaffirms Loyalty to APC

The Forum of the defunct Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) has called on Nigerians to support President Bola Tinubu’s ongoing reforms, expressing confidence in their potential to build a more prosperous and secure nation.

Spokesperson of the Forum and former Nasarawa State governor, Senator Umaru Al-Makura, made this known at a press conference held on Thursday in Abuja.

Al-Makura emphasized that the Tinubu administration is laying a solid foundation for national development through bold policy reforms. He reaffirmed the Forum’s unwavering loyalty to the All Progressives Congress (APC), dismissing speculations suggesting division within the former CPC bloc.

“We have come together today to reaffirm our commitment to the ideals that brought us together in 2013,” he said. “The former CPC stakeholders remain strong, united, and deeply loyal to the APC and President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.”

Al-Makura highlighted the historical significance of the merger between the CPC, Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP), and a faction of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), which led to the APC’s victory in 2015. He said the same spirit of unity and patriotism should guide current party members through today’s challenging reforms.

He called on aggrieved APC members to resolve issues internally through dialogue, patience, and perseverance, noting that true loyalty is tested during difficult times.

“The former CPC stands firm within the APC, committed to the success of President Tinubu’s administration and the progress of our beloved country,” Al-Makura added.
