DICON Strengthens Partnership with D7G to Advance Military Industrial Complex

In a strategic move toward the actualization of Nigeria’s Military Industrial Complex, the Defence Industries Corporation of Nigeria (DICON) has solidified its collaboration with D7G Company Limited.

This was confirmed by the Director General of DICON, Major General Babatunde Ibrahim Alaya, during a courtesy visit by the D7G team to the DICON Headquarters in Kaduna.

Major General Alaya described D7G as a highly reputable and dependable partner capable of propelling DICON toward its goal of becoming the central hub of Nigeria’s Military Industrial Complex. He emphasized that all necessary arrangements have been made to scale up the production of arms, ammunition, and other military hardware, while promoting self-sufficiency and indigenous manufacturing of defense-related products.

“It is worth noting that the DICON-D7G Board was recently convened to enhance local production of military equipment. My goal is to build on this collaboration without delay,” General Alaya stated.

Speaking during the visit, the Chief Executive Officer of D7G, Mr. Osman Chennar, reaffirmed the company’s commitment to revitalizing production activities at DICON. He expressed optimism that the DICON-D7G partnership would usher Nigeria into a new era of local production of military hardware.

Mr. Chennar also commended DICON’s production facilities and skilled manpower, noting that the collaboration would foster capacity development among DICON staff and significantly boost national revenue generation.

The visit featured a guided tour of the DICON Ordnance Factory and an exchange of souvenirs between both parties.
