Dr. Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna, the All Progressives Congress (APC) gubernatorial candidate in the 2023 Kano State elections, officially assumed office on Tuesday as the Chairman of the Board of the Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria (FMBN).
His resumption follows his swearing-in on Monday by the Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Arc. Ahmed Musa Dangiwa, in Abuja. The ceremony is part of the federal government’s ongoing efforts to strengthen critical institutions responsible for housing delivery and mortgage financing across the country.
Speaking shortly after taking charge, Dr. Gawuna expressed his gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the opportunity to serve and pledged to work diligently toward advancing the bank’s mission of providing affordable housing to Nigerians through accessible and sustainable mortgage financing.
“I am deeply honoured by this opportunity to serve the nation in this capacity,” Gawuna said. “Housing is a fundamental need, and I will collaborate with all stakeholders to ensure that the Federal Mortgage Bank fulfills its mandate of helping low- and middle-income earners become homeowners.”
