Controversial figure Idris Okuneye, popularly known as Bobrisky, has been detained by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for alleged offenses relating to the abuse of the Nigerian currency, including spraying and mutilation of naira notes.
The arrest, which took place in Lagos on Wednesday night, follows a series of controversies surrounding Bobrisky in recent weeks.

Currently held at the EFCC’s Lagos Command, Bobrisky is expected to face charges in court, as confirmed by EFCC spokesperson Dele Oyewale in a telephone interview on Thursday.
Oyewale emphasized the EFCC’s commitment to upholding the integrity of the naira, stating, “We are very serious about restoring the dignity of the naira.”
While investigations continue, Bobrisky is slated for court proceedings in the near future.
