Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf on Wednesday cautioned against any avoidable incident that may lead to the killing of innocent persons during the traditional Sallah festival in the state.
Besides, Governor Yusuf who reminded his administration’s zero tolerance to any form of reckless driving and hooliganism insisted any person found guilty of the unwholesome act would be punished.
The Governor issued the warning immediately after observing the two ‘raka’ prayers at the central Eid prayer ground, marking the end of the 30-day Ramadan fasting period.
Governor Yusuf disclosed that “it is worthy to caution against reckless driving and other social vices especially the thuggery activities (fadan Daba) during the festive season and even beyond.

“We will not spare anybody found wanting maiming, injuring or killing of innocent people. Our administration will do anything possible within the confines of the law to ensure the safety and security of all residents and visitors of Kano”. He warned.
Governor Yusuf had felicitated with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Muslims globally for the successful completion of Ramadan and Sallah celebrations in a peaceful manner.
He called on Muslim Ummah to replicate the virtues and teachers that the holy month of Ramadan exemplified, essentially the good spirit of generosity, patriotism, compassion and peaceful coexistence in the neighborhood.
” The fact that Ramadan has ended should not distance us from observing the principles of compassion, generosity, discipline, patriotism, and peaceful coexistence the holy period instilled on us. We should embrace one another for the advancement of the society we collectively aspire to beyond the holy month.
“We wish to urge the esteemed citizens of Kano to supplicate for divine guidance for our administration so as to continue to deliver the dividend of democracy to the good people of Kano state.
“As we pledged during our campaign, our government will facilitate a conducive policy framework for peaceful cohabitation and unity for all.
“The better days await the populace of Kano as this imminent administration under my stewardship has planned to execute massive infrastructure development in the 2024 fiscal year”. Governor Yusuf said.
