As preparations for Eid-ul-Kabir intensify, the Assistant Inspector General of Police in charge of Zone One Headquarters, Kano, AIG Garba Ahmed, has directed the Commissioners of Police in Kano and Jigawa States to implement robust security measures before, during, and after the festivities.
In a directive aimed at ensuring a peaceful celebration, the AIG also instructed the zone’s intelligence units to intensify surveillance and provide timely, actionable intelligence that will support the maintenance of law and order across both states.
AIG Garba extended warm greetings to the Muslim Ummah on the occasion of Eid-ul-Kabir, which falls on the 10th of Zul-Hijjah, 1446 AH, corresponding to June 6, 2025. He assured residents of the zone that the police are fully committed to safeguarding lives and property throughout the festive season.

He called on the people of Kano and Jigawa to celebrate with moderation and respect for the law, while urging them to use the occasion to pray for peace, unity, and security in the zone and across Nigeria.
The AIG also appealed to the public to cooperate with security agencies by providing credible and timely information that could aid in crime prevention and effective policing.
He reiterated with heartfelt wishes for a joyous and peaceful Eid celebration.
