FCAPT Installs 11 KVA Transformer to Enhance Teaching and Learning

The Federal College of Agricultural Produce Technology (FCAPT) has purchased and installed an 11 KVA transformer to enhance electricity supply for its academic and entrepreneurial activities.

Speaking at the commissioning ceremony, the Provost of the college, Dr. Muhammad Yusha’u Gwaram, stated that the transformer was installed to meet the institution’s growing electricity needs, particularly in the areas of teaching and learning.

He emphasized that FCAPT relies on several machines and gadgets, especially in entrepreneurship and post-harvest technology, which require a stable power supply to function efficiently. Dr. Gwaram described the project as one of the most significant achievements under his leadership.

Kano State Commissioner for Power and Renewable Energy, Engr. Gaddafi Sani Shehu, commended the initiative and assured that the state government would continue to support similar projects while exploring opportunities for future collaboration.

Also speaking, the Managing Director of the Kano State Rural Electricity Board, Engr. Sani Bala Ilyasu, reaffirmed the agency’s commitment to supporting FCAPT in fulfilling its mandate. He highlighted an ongoing electrification project by the Rural Electrification Agency (REA), which aims to benefit educational institutions, businesses, and small and medium enterprises.

Engr. Ilyasu urged the FCAPT maintenance team to ensure proper upkeep of the transformer for long-term benefits.

The commissioning ceremony was attended by college staff, officials from the Ministry of Power and Renewable Energy, the Kano State Rural Electricity Board, and experts from the electricity sector.
