Former National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Kola Ologbondiyan, has formally withdrawn his membership from the party.
Ologbondiyan made the announcement on Saturday through a post shared on his X account, where he disclosed that he had notified the chairman of his Okekoko Ward 09 in Kabba/Bunu Local Government Area of Kogi State about his decision. He attributed his departure to personal considerations.
He also posted a copy of his letter titled “NOTIFICATION OF MEMBERSHIP WITHDRAWAL,” which partly states:
“Let me start by thanking you as well as other levels of leadership in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the opportunities provided for me to serve the party as well as our fatherland, Nigeria.
“It is now imperative to bring your attention to the fact that I have reviewed my participation in the PDP and come to the conclusion that, for personal reasons, I need to make my exit.
“I have therefore come to a decision to formally withdraw my membership of the PDP, henceforth.”
Beyond his role as the PDP’s spokesperson, Ologbondiyan previously served as an aide to David Mark, now chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), during Mark’s tenure as President of the Senate.
While confirming his departure, the Kogi-born politician did not indicate which political platform he intends to join next.
