Ganduje Meets NNPP Lawmakers Ahead of Planned Defection to APC

The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, on Tuesday held a closed-door meeting with prominent members of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) Senator Abdurrahman Kawu Sumaila, and House of Representatives members, Kabiru Alhassan Rurum and Aliyu Sani Madaki.

The meeting, which took place in Abuja, was confirmed by Aminu Dahiru Ahmad, the Senior Special Assistant to the APC National Chairman on Visual Communication & Events, via a post on his verified social media handle.

According to the statement, the meeting is part of ongoing preparations for the lawmakers’ planned defection from the NNPP to the APC ahead of the 2027 general elections.

It will be recalled that the opposition lawmakers have been embroiled in a prolonged rift with the NNPP’s national leader and founder of the Kwankwasiyya movement, Dr. Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso.
