The Department of Education at Bayero University, Kano (BUK), has honoured the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, CON, and his wife, Professor Hafsat Umar Ganduje, for their outstanding contributions to the development of education in Nigeria.
The award ceremony, held at the university’s New Campus on Monday, recognized the couple’s commitment to enhancing the quality and accessibility of education, particularly during Dr. Ganduje’s tenure as Governor of Kano State.
The Department of Education highlighted the couple’s involvement in numerous educational initiatives that have impacted thousands of students and teachers. These include the provision of scholarships for underprivileged students, investment in educational infrastructure, teacher training and empowerment programmes, and policy reforms aimed at strengthening the education sector.
