Gombe Education Commissioner Launches AI Training, Unveils New Standards

The Honorable Commissioner of Education, Dr. Aishatu Umar Maigari, has officiated the flag-off ceremony for the Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Pedagogy Training, aimed at enhancing the teaching skills of 6,000 educators across Nigeria’s 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

The event, organized by the National Senior Secondary Education Commission (NSSEC) in Abuja, also featured the unveiling of the new National Minimum Standards for Senior Secondary School Education in Nigeria.

The initiative is designed to transform the country’s education system by integrating AI-driven teaching methods, making learning more personalized, inclusive, and effective. Dr. Maigari emphasized that leveraging AI in pedagogy would equip teachers with innovative tools to enhance student engagement and academic outcomes.
