Kebbi State Governor, Comrade Dr Nasir Idris Kauran Gwandu on Friday departed to Saudi Arabia to perform the 2024 Holy pilgrimage.
The Governor, in company of his two wives, Hajiya Zainab Nasare and Hajiya Nafisa Nasir Idris, the State Amirul Hajj, Alhaji Usman Saidu Nasamu Dakingari , Speaker of Kebbi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Usman Muhammad Ankwe and the last batch of intending pilgrims from the state.
On board Flynas A330 Airbus, the Governor’s flight took off at the Sir Ahmadu Bello International Airport, Birnin Kebbi for Madinatul Munawwarah along the last batch of Lagos Pilgrims.
Speaking to journalists shortly before departure, Governor Nasir Idris thanked the people of Kebbi State for their unflinching support and cooperation to his administration.

He said, ” I remain grateful to the people of the state , we are still closer together even though I am travelling to perform the Hajj rites.
”By the Grace of God, we will go safely and return safely after the Holy Pilgrimage and meet my people well.”
The governor felicitated the people of the State in advance for the upcoming Eid-el-Kabir Sallah celebration and also admonished them to be peaceful and law abiding.
” We all know that the people of Kebbi State are law abiding and they will continue to uphold the trend, to consolidate on the tranquility and security prevailing statewide “, he said.
The State Deputy Governor, Senator Umar Abubakar Tafida, Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Yakubu Bala Tafida, government officials, politicians and hundreds of party faithfuls besieged the Sir Ahmadu Bello International Airport Birnin Kebbi to bid the governor farewell.
