Umar Idris Shuaibu, Kano
Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has approved a series of key appointments and promotions aimed at strengthening governance and enhancing service delivery in the state.
This was disclosed in a statement by the Director General of Media and Publicity, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, on Wednesday.
The new appointments bring in seasoned professionals and emerging leaders, reinforcing the administration’s commitment to efficiency, excellence, and inclusive governance.

Key Appointments
1. Architect Hauwa Hassan Tudun Wada – Managing Director, Kano Urban Planning and Development Authority (KNUPDA)
A Fellow of the Nigerian Institute of Architects and Vice Chairperson of Female Architects in Nigeria.
Formerly a Professional Architect at the Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA).
Holds ND, HND, BSc, and MSc degrees in Architecture from Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria.
One of the first female architects from Kano to achieve excellence in the field.
2. Mustapha Muhammad – Chief Press Secretary to the Governor and Deputy Official Spokesperson
A veteran journalist with over 20 years of experience, formerly a Senior Broadcaster at the BBC.
Holds BSc and MSc degrees in Mass Communication and is pursuing a PhD in the same field.
Expected to work under the Director General, Media and Publicity, to strengthen media engagement for the administration.
3. Auwal Lawan Aramposu – Deputy Managing Director, Kano Road Traffic Agency (KAROTA)
Former Chairman of Nasarawa Local Government.
Previously served as Senior Special Assistant (SSA) on ICT to a former Kano State governor.
4. Dr. Tukur Dayyabu Minjibir – Special Adviser to the Governor on Agriculture
Former Managing Director of Kano Agricultural Supply Company and Senior Lecturer at ABU Zaria.
Holds a PhD in Agricultural Engineering, specializing in agricultural mechanization.
Promotions
1. Zulaihat Yusuf Aji – Deputy Managing Director, Radio Kano
Former Senior Special Assistant on Broadcast (1) at the Media and Public Relations Directorate, Government House.
A seasoned journalist with over a decade of experience at Freedom Radio Kano.
2. Engineer Abduljabbar Nanono – Deputy Managing Director, KHEDCO
Holds a Master’s Degree in Renewable Energy.
Former Senior Special Assistant on Renewable Energy.
Governor Yusuf congratulated the newly appointed and promoted officials, urging them to bring dedication and innovation to their roles. He assured them of his full support as they work toward the progress and development of Kano State.
