HAJJ 2026: NAHCON COMMENDS KANO STATE PILGRIMS WELFARE BOARD FOR EXCEPTIONAL PERFORMANCE

The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has commended the Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board for its outstanding commitment and exemplary performance in preparations for the 2026 Hajj exercise.

Speaking during a joint meeting with all State Pilgrims Welfare Agencies today in Abuja, the Director General of the Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board, Alh. Lamin Rabi’u Danbappa, announced that the Board has remitted over ₦22 billion to the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria. He noted that this early and substantial remittance demonstrates Kano State’s dedication to ensuring a smooth, well-organized, and timely Hajj operation for its intending pilgrims.

In his remarks, the Chairman of NAHCON, Prof. Abdullahi Saleh Usman, praised Kano State for setting a remarkable standard among all participating states. He described Kano as “different among others”, highlighting the Board’s transparency, efficiency, and proactive planning.

Prof. Usman further applauded the leadership of the Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board for its consistent efforts toward improving service delivery, enhancing pilgrims’ welfare, and maintaining strong collaboration with the Commission.

Kano State’s early remittance and preparedness reaffirm its determination to ensure that intending pilgrims receive the best possible support and guidance throughout the 2026 Hajj journey.
