Dissatisfied with Gov. Yusuf’s open criticism on the operations of Hisbah particularly on the controversial arrest of TikTok influencer Murja Ibrahim Kunya, the famous Islamic scholar announced his resignation on social media last Friday.

Applauding Daurawa on his verified X handle @Kyusufabba, the Governor said ” Pleased to receive Sheikh Aminu Ibrahim Daurawa, Commander General of the Kano State Hisbah Board, accompanied by Prof. Musa Borodo, Sheikh Abdulwahab Abdallah, and other members of the Kano State Coalition of Ulamas, this night at the Governor’s Office.

However, the comment has continued to attract published reactions on whether or not the Governor should have openly apologized to Daurawa after the public embarrassment.

According to a reply from @aleeyhuag “You didn’t mention that you have apologized? Is that not equally important?”

Also, @shafiihamidu said, “HE @Kyusufabba sir, kindly allow them to do their job without interference. Support them to sanitize the city. Kano is experiencing serious moral decadence and decay.

“They can help you to improve on this and therefore you need their support. I hope this will be an opportunity for you and also on @KanoHisbah to come together and improve on the framework of operations. A word is enough for the wise”.

However, @muhdamean said, “Apologies accepted, I commend the governor, council of ulamas and hisbah board for their leadership skills regarding this matter 👍”.
