Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has imposed 24 hours restriction of movement to. curtail the rising break down of law and order triggered by the hunger protest in the state.
Besides, Governor Yusuf directed security agencies in the state to ensure full compliance of the curfew to end needless violence and invasion of public property in the state.
Addressing journalists on Thursday at Government house, Governor Yusuf said the action was considered to prevent lives and property and restore lasting peace in the wake of agitation against bad governance.
The Governor lamented that the demostration which started peacefully in the early hours of Thursday was hijacked by hoodlums who took the opportunity to loot public property and valuable.
