IBEDC Staff Electrocuted While Working On Power Line

A tragic scene unfolded on Wednesday in the heart of Ibadan, Oyo State, as a staff member of the Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC) was electrocuted while performing maintenance on a power line directly opposite the WAEC office in the city’s bustling center.

The horrifying moment was captured in a viral video now circulating on social media, showing the technician suspended atop an electric pole, motionless and unresponsive.

Shocked passersby gathered below, visibly distressed and helpless as they waited anxiously for assistance.

In a swift response, fellow IBEDC workers courageously scaled the pole to reach their colleague. The technician was eventually brought down and rushed to the University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan, where he is reportedly receiving medical care.

As of the time of this report, the technician’s condition remains uncertain. IBEDC and emergency authorities have yet to release an official statement addressing the incident or confirming the victim’s current status.
