Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has unveiled the distribution of Ramadan palliative with strong warning against any attempt to divert the food items.

Flagging the 4th distribution in the series of palliative in the state at Tiamin Rice, Governor Yusuf specifically disclosed that the food items are strictly meant for the less privileged and must be delivered to them.

Although, Governor Yusuf was silent on the kind of punishment awaiting anyone found sabotaging the distribution, he was categorical that any person caught betraying the confidence entrusted in the committee not go score-free.

Besides, Governor Yusuf also vowed to sack any political appointees who compromise the system, regardless of the person(s)status in his administration.

It could be recalled that Governor Yusuf personally led a team of government officials and journalists to uncover a warehouse where some palliative was diverted.

It was gathered that one of the members of the organizing committee at the cabinet office found wanting in connection with the diversion was handed over to the security.

According to Governor Yusuf, a total number of 112,225 bags of 25kg of rice will be distributed to 224,440 households across the 484 political wards in the state.

The distribution he emphasized will kick off with 16 local government areas of Kano South with 31,670 bags of 25kg, followed by Kano North 13 local government 23,640 bags and Kano Central with 15 local government areas with 56,910 bags.
