The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has acknowledged that Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State—who is currently under suspension—paid him a visit, accompanied by two fellow governors.
Wike, who served as the immediate past governor of Rivers State, made this known during a media interaction with selected journalists in Abuja on Monday.
His remarks come amid widespread speculation about efforts to mend political rifts in the oil-rich state.
“Yes, he visited,” Wike confirmed, referring to the meeting with Fubara and the two other state governors.
The visit is being interpreted by many as a potential step toward reconciliation, given the ongoing crisis that has gripped Rivers State politics in recent months.
