Authorities have arrested one of the individuals involved in distributing Russian flags during the #EndBadGovernance protests, in Kano.

The trend of waving foreign flags, particularly Russian ones, has grown significantly across various parts of the country since last week, with a notable increase by Monday 5th of August.

In his nationwide address, President Bola Tinubu urged Nigerians to focus on unity and progress, emphasizing the importance of maintaining the country’s democratic journey.

“Let us work together to build a brighter future for ourselves and for generations to come. Let us choose hope over fear, unity over division, and progress over stagnation. The economy is recovering; Please, don’t shut out its oxygen. Now that we have been enjoying democratic governance for 25 years, do not let the enemies of democracy use you to promote an unconstitutional agenda that will set us back on our democratic journey. Forward ever, backward never!” he said.
