The Independent Hajj Reporters, non-governmental organization has conferred the award of Best Reporter of the year 2024 on Chairman, Kano State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Comrade Sulaiman Abdullahi Dederi.
Dederi, who also doubles as spokesman of Kano State Pilgrims’ Welfare Board was awarded for his diligent performances in the 2024 Hajj exercise.
A statement by NUJ state secretary,
Abubakar Shehu Kwaru on Wednesday, said the award was conferred during the 2024 Hajj Lecture and Awards ceremo held at National Mosque, Abuja.
Speaking at the annual event, Hajjreporters National coordinator, Comrade Ibrahim Muhammad said, the choice of Dederi was based on how he exalted himself among his peers during the recent Hajj exercise.
He said the NUJ Chairman exemplified himself with diligent performance and led others in discharging core responsibility.
According to the Hajjreporters Coordinator, Dederi was prompt in delivery of conveying communication through press releases and issueing accurate and unbiased stories which unarguably helped in boosting the Board’s image likewise his good name
“Undoubtedly, the scintillating work of Kano Pilgrims Welfare Board spokesperson is second to none in the field of journalism. It is our fervent hope he will remain tireless in this regard.
Meanwhile, the state council of the Nigeria union of journalists has rejoiced with the celebrant over the milestone and prayed for Allah blessings and continue guidance to the number one journalist in kano state.
