The Kano Online Media Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) has called on the Kano State Government to prioritize the rehabilitation of rural and community roads ahead of the upcoming rainy season.
This call was made in a communiqué issued at the end of the Chapel’s Congress, jointly signed by the Chairman, Comrade Abubakar Abdulkadir Dangambo, and the Secretary, Isiyaku Ahmed.
The Congress, which convened representatives from various media organizations, focused on reviewing the Chapel’s progress and addressing key social and developmental concerns.

Among other resolutions, the Chapel urged the state government to ensure the timely provision of essential farming inputs to local farmers. The delegates noted that such support is vital for boosting agricultural productivity and securing a bumper harvest during the farming season.
In a major decision, the Congress approved a registration fee of N25,000 for new members seeking to join the Chapel. Members were also encouraged to familiarize themselves with the NUJ constitution to better understand their rights, responsibilities, and privileges within the union.
Chairman of the Chapel, Comrade Dangambo, welcomed members and commended their commitment to the growth and institutional development of the Chapel. He emphasized that the Congress was primarily convened to address issues surrounding membership registration and organizational strengthening.
He also charged journalists to uphold ethical standards in their reporting and remain focused on stories that promote public interest.
During the meeting, both the Secretariat and Financial Reports were presented and adopted by members. Other key discussions included the registration process for new members and strategies to ensure the effective management of the Chapel’s secretariat.
The Congress marked a significant milestone in the Chapel’s ongoing efforts to solidify its role within the broader NUJ structure.
