Umar Idris Shuaibu, Kano
New students of School of Continuing Education and Postgraduate Studies (SCEPS) Kano State Polytechnic, have been matriculated into the National Diploma (ND) and Higher National Diploma (HND) programmes of the institution for the 2022/2023 & 2023/2024 academic session.
Dr. Abubakar Umar Farouk, Rector, Kano State Polytechnic, stated this at the matriculation ceremony held at the continuing education and postgraduate studies center.
According to the Rector, 2,572 have been admitted into the ND and HND programmes spread across Departments of the School of Continuing Education and Postgraduate Studies (SCEPS).

Dr. Abubakar Umar Farouk, represented by Deputy Rector Dr. Muhammad Umar Kibiya said the institution is desirous of training students that will represent the pride and good image of the institution. “We are confident that you all will play significant role in attaining that goal”.
“We will continue to work towards making the Polytechnic environment more user friendly and ensure your personal growth and development.
We shall also continue to ensure that our graduates are responsible citizens who will contribute to the development of our dear Kano State and Nigeria at large”.
Speaking earlier, Head Drug Demand Reduction Unit, Superintendent of Narcotics of (NDLEA) Musa Bulus Agwam said the agency will continue to collaborate with institutions of higher learning to reduce and manage drug abuse.
Bulus added that alcoholic addiction is tantamount to destroying future of students, which he warned the matriculating students to stay away from such behaviors to avoid been punished.
On his part, Director School of Continuing Education and Postgraduate Studies (SCEPS), Dr. Ibrahim Adamu urged the students to understand the bye law of the institution so as to shun any behavior that will not assist them in their academic career.
“Ignorance of the law has no place in the Polytechnic and will not be tolerated”.
The Director of the school Dr. Ibrahim Adamu encouraged students to be of sterling examples of what moral discipline is, advised them to dress modestly and in accordance with the acceptable standards.
