The Kano State Commissioner of Health, Dr. Abubakar Labaran Yusuf has inspected Nuhu Bamalli Maternity Hospital in their effort to restored the structure of the facility.
Dr. Labaran stated that due to the importance of the Nuhu Bamalli Maternity Hospital, Kano State Government will soon commission the new renovated facility to allow Kano residents to benefit from it.
He added that this is part of the administration’s commitment to the health sector in one year.
“You can see that Nuhu Bamalli Maternity Hospital is set for commissioning any moment from now to start operation.

“Nuhu Bamalli is not a big facility, but we know how pregnant women around the metropolis attended to seek for medical attention during delivery.
“When we come on board, nothing is working properly because of the dilapidated structures that we inherited from the previous administration, but currently all the structures are fixed to serve the test of time”, Dr. Abubakar Labaran Yusuf.
The State Commissioner of Health also visited Murtala Muhammad General Hospital and equipped Hasiya Bayero Paediatric Hospital, which undergoes renovation and directs free distribution of drugs and other medical consumables to patients attending the facility in the one year of Abba Kabir Yusuf administration.
“Yes our administration re-equiped the Accident and Emergency unit of the Murtala Muhammad General Hospital and is now in good condition, as you can testify”.

He said the current administration increased the health sector allocation from 40 billion Naira to 71 billion Naira, representing a significant increase when compared to 2023 before the inception of Abba Kabir Yusuf’s administration.
Dr. Labaran also reiterated the State Government’s commitment to providing effective health care services consumables across the State.
He stated the commitment when visiting the equipped PHARMA Grade medical store and warehouse constructed by UNICEF at Drugs and Medical Consumables Supply Agency (DMCSA).
“Due to our healthy relationship with partners, they decided to support our effort by constructing the warehouse to help store the medical consumables in good condition.
“Now all other states in the Northwest will be taking their own share of this facility due to the strategic location of Kano State.
The State Commissioner of Health Dr. Abubakar Labaran Yusuf said the development in the health sector is as a result of the administration’s commitment to improved service delivery.
Speaking during the visit, the Executive Secretary of the Hospital Management Board, Dr. Mansur Mudi Nagoda added that the Kano State Government will continue to distribute the delivery pack to all pregnant women in the state.
Dr. Nagoda said 6,000 delivery packs will also be distributed to an estimated 6,000 women, and other cleaning and cleansing materials.
“We’re encouraging people to come to the Government health facilities, because they are safer and manned by professional workers”.
He said the Hospital Management Board will continue to provide the needed materials for improved service delivery in all the state’s own health facilities.
