A renowned US-based philanthropist and Chairperson of Achana Legacy Humanitarian Solutions, Dr. Maryam J.A. Ogundepo, on Tuesday paid a courtesy visit to the Director General of The Progressive Institute (TPI), Dr. Lanre Adebayo, in Abuja.
Dr. Maryam commended the intellectual vision of the Abdullahi Umar Ganduje-led All Progressives Congress (APC) in establishing TPI, emphasizing that Nigerians need such progressive initiatives at this critical moment in the nation’s political history. She pledged her unwavering support for the APC and its government, particularly in promoting good governance at the grassroots level. As part of her commitment, she promised to donate a modern library to TPI in the near future.
“Just show me the location you want it, and I will provide both electronic and physical books for the institute as my way of giving back to my fatherland,” Dr. Maryam assured.

A dedicated Igala woman, Dr. Maryam played a significant role in supporting the Ebira governorship ambition that led to the election of the incumbent Kogi State Governor, Usman Ododo, contributing substantial funds and campaign materials. She expressed her determination to extend similar support to the APC at the national level.
As a staunch supporter of the APC, Dr. Maryam, through her philanthropic organization in collaboration with Women Entrepreneurs Nigeria and the Diaspora, has finalized plans to donate additional resources to the APC and Nigerians at large.
In response, Dr. Lanre Adebayo commended Dr. Maryam for her outstanding humanitarian contributions. He lauded her decision to provide intellectual materials for the APC Think Tank, affirming that such generosity will be highly valued and appreciated.
