A prominent stakeholder in the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) and respected member of the Kwankwasiyya movement, Ambassador Hamisu Sa’ad Dogon Nama, has responded to recent remarks by the Minister of State for Housing, Hon. Abdullahi Ata, by reaffirming the enduring relevance of Senator Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso in Nigerian politics.
Dogon Nama stated that Minister Ata is well aware of Kwankwaso’s enduring political strength, noting that despite operating under a relatively new political party, the former governor has led the NNPP to major victories — including the Kano State governorship seat.
“If Minister Ata believes no one is reaching out to Kwankwaso, he should consult his political mentors — they are the ones lobbying for his return. They understand that Kwankwaso is not just experienced but deeply rooted among the grassroots,” Dogon Nama said.
He pointed to the 2023 general elections as proof of Kwankwaso’s wide influence, emphasizing that under his leadership, the NNPP made significant electoral gains across Kano State.

“Even in Ata’s own local government area of Fagge, NNPP secured all elective positions, underscoring Kwankwaso’s unmatched grassroots appeal,” he added.
Responding to APC National Chairman, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, Dogon Nama recalled how NNPP also made a major impact in Ganduje’s stronghold of Dawakin Tofa/Tofa/Rimin Gado constituency, where Ganduje’s son lost his bid for the House of Representatives to an NNPP candidate.
“Ata, Ganduje, and others in the APC must come to terms with the fact that Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso remains a towering figure in Nigerian politics. The 2023 elections clearly showed his leadership strength as the NNPP won more gubernatorial votes than any other party and secured numerous Senate, House of Representatives, and State Assembly seats,” he said.
Dogon Nama further stated that Kwankwaso’s popularity is not driven by political theatrics, but by a track record of meaningful development and consistent service to the people of Kano and beyond.
“No politician in Kano has a broader or more loyal support base than Kwankwaso. His influence continues to shine because of the real and lasting contributions he has made to both Kano State and the nation,” Dogon Nama concluded.
