Authorities in Zamfara State have apprehended a man suspected of providing logistical support to armed groups by delivering soft drinks and other consumables.
Identified as Ashiru Jijji, the suspect was reportedly caught during a patrol operation conducted by the Zamfara State Community Protection Guards in an area known for frequent bandit activity. A security source, who requested anonymity, confirmed the arrest.
In a report shared by security analyst Zagozola Makama, initial findings suggest that Jijji served as a regular supplier, transporting goods to remote forest camps used by the armed gangs.
“We caught him in the act while he was transporting cartons of soft drinks, and other supplies. Upon interrogation, he confessed that the items were meant for a group of bandits he regularly serves,” the source revealed.
Jijji is currently being held in custody and is expected to be transferred to the appropriate security authorities for further investigation and potential prosecution.
