Minister Rejects Ganduje’s Candidate Abdullahi Abbas As APC Chair 

Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development, Hon. Yusuf Abdullahi Ata has threatened to dump the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) if Abdullahi Abba emerge as party chairman in Kano.

Besides, Ata insisted that APC may head for another round of failure to capture power from the opposition New Nigerian Peoples Party (NNPP) if Abbas eventually imposed as party chairman.

Abbas whose third term tenure as APC Chairman in Kano would end this month is allegedly being projected by National Chairman Abdullahi Umar Ganduje to return for the fourth time.

Abbas, a Prince of Kano royal emirate who has been a choice candidate of Ganduje has been in charge of the party in the last 10 years.

Speaking at Fagge APC caucus meeting at Federal Secretariat in Kano, the former Speaker of Kano state House of Assembly revealed that his constituency is not backing the propurted imposition of Abbas to head APC in Kano.

According to the Minister, “We are making it clear to everyone, that if they bring him back, we will leave the party and the party will surely fall again. We are not with such people, and no matter what happens, we will not align with them. They send us messages, and we respond accordingly.

Ata speaks further: “We were raised with good morals; we know who God is, we respect our scholars and elders, and we will not compromise our values. If they insist on bringing him back, we will leave, and I swear, the party will fall again.

“Votes do not give power, money cannot buy power, and even the people do not ultimately decide who rules. Gawuna and Garo won the election cleanly, but fraud was committed against us”. Ata declared.
