N6bn Ramadan Feeding: Gov. Yusuf Accuses Committee of Mismanagement of Resources

 

Gov. Yusuf has expressed dissatisfaction with the arrangement of the government’s Ramadan Feeding Programme.

Besides, Governor Yusuf alleged mismanagement of resources earmarked for the annual feeding of the less privileged in the holy month of Ramadan.

Screenshot 20240323 064053 1A statement issued by Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, the Governor’s Spokesperson, Friday evening said the Governor raised the concern during an unscheduled inspection of one of the feeding centers in the metropolis.

According to the statement “The governor was disappointed with the program during an impromptu visit to one of the feeding centres in Gidan Maza, Municipal Local Government area.

“Governor Yusuf also conveyed his dissatisfaction with the conduct of the program handlers, whom he believes are depriving the intended beneficiaries.

“We will not accept dishonesty and mismanagement of public resources. It is imperative to note that the allocated funds for this initiative are meticulously documented at each centre” the Governor cautioned

The statement further revealed that Governor Yusuf decided to embark on the inspection following intelligence reports implying deficiencies in the management of the feeding program at various centres across the metropolis.

The Six billion naira feeding program, under the supervision of the deputy governor and several commissioners commenced the distribution on the eighth day of Ramadan.
