Nigerian singer, Afeez Fashola, also known as Naira Marley, has come under strong criticism over a post on the forthcoming Ramadan.
The singer had taken to his verified X handle on Friday to express happiness over this year’s Ramadan, prompting a torrent of responses from his followers, who hit hard on him over his alleged misdeeds.
Happiness is knowing that RAMADAN is near.

But some of his followers on X (formerly Twitter) described the post as face-saving.
He wan use Ramadan cover face,” an X user, @ayowa9 tweeted.
Another Nigerian with the user name @jaiye3b wrote : “Why did you treat Mohbad so bad ?”

On his part, @teejay347t said :”Sadness is knowing one’s career is gone,” while @kimoranky responded to the singer’s post by saying : “So you go fit dey do give away for people online to buy their love back in the name of Zakat?”
However, many others who responded to the post commended Naira Marley even as they wished a wonderful Ramadan.
It was reported that last year, the Nigerian singer had in a related post advised Muslims against betting during the holy month of Ramadan.

Recall that Marley and Larry were arraigned at a Lagos magistrate court and later remanded at the Lagos State Police Command’s Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, Panti, Yaba, on October 4, 2023, over their alleged involvement in the circumstances surrounding the death of a singer, Ilerioluwa Aloba, aka Mohbad, who was hitherto signed to Marley’s Marlian Music.
After spending over a month in detention, the duo was released on November 17, 2023, after meeting their bail conditions.
