The National Association of University Students (NAUS) has urged Federal Government to address inflation, unemployment and the decline in living.
A statement by Deputy Senate President, Alade Abayomi, noted the high cost of food, housing, healthcare, and transportation, has put a burden on students, others.
Abayomi appealed to government to implement measures to bring relief to citizens.
He said: “We implore the Federal Government to alleviate the suffering of students and citizens. It is imperative steps be taken to cushion the impact of high cost of living and provide relief to those most affected.
“Government should consider subsidies or price controls on education, transportation and essential goods to make them affordable. Introducing welfare to provide assistance to low-income families, the elderly, and persons with disabilities.”
