In recent weeks, a common phrase has echoed in political circles: “Please extend our thank-you message to His Excellency, Commander Murtala Sule Garo.” This statement, often repeated by colleagues and beneficiaries, is a testament to the widespread generosity that has become synonymous with his name.
For those familiar with his philanthropic nature, this outpouring of gratitude comes as no surprise. Commander Murtala Sule Garo has long been known for his commitment to supporting both politicians and ordinary citizens alike, without seeking publicity or acknowledgment.
This Ramadan, his charitable efforts have extended even further. He has reached out to the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kano State, ensuring that party officials across the 44 Local Government including Chairmen, Secretaries, Treasurers, Youth Leaders, and Women Leaders benefit from his goodwill.

Beyond the party leadership, he has also extended his support to the 40 members of the Kano State Assembly, the Forum of Former Local Government Chairmen and their Deputies, as well as Secretaries who served between 2015 and 2023. Social media influencers, radio commentators, youth groups, and other individuals have also been included in his generous outreach.
Despite the scale of these contributions, Commander Murtala Sule Garo remains steadfast in his belief that acts of kindness should not be publicized. However, in a time when political giving is often transactional, his selfless approach stands out. He gives not for recognition, but out of a deep-seated sense of duty to his people.
The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: “Whoever does not thank the people, does not thank Allah.” It is only fitting, then, that we acknowledge and appreciate such a leader in our midst, one who continuously strives to address the needs of the people without expectation of reward.
