Over 20,000 Nigerian Pilgrims Arrive in Saudi Arabia Within One Week – NAHCON

In a significant milestone for the 2025 Hajj exercise, the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has announced that a total of 20,515 Nigerian pilgrims have successfully arrived in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia within the first week of airlift operations.

The pilgrims, drawn from various states across the country, are in the Holy Land to fulfill the sacred obligation of Hajj.

According to a statement from the commission, the swift and well-coordinated transportation process was achieved through the collaborative efforts of NAHCON, state pilgrim welfare boards, and approved airline operators.

The pilgrims were flown into Saudi Arabia in multiple batches and have since settled into their accommodations in Medina and Mecca in preparation for the main rites of Hajj.

The NAHCON Chairman, Prof. Abdullahi Sale Usman has expressed his satisfaction with the progress of the operation so far and commended all stakeholders for their dedication and professionalism.

He further said the commission will also reassure the public that measures have been put in place to ensure the safety, comfort, and spiritual wellbeing of all Nigerian pilgrims throughout the Hajj season.

As airlift operations continue in the coming days, NAHCON called on intending pilgrims to remain patient and adhere to all guidelines issued to ensure a smooth and successful Hajj experience.
