The Provost of Audu Bako College of Agriculture, Dambatta (ABCOAD), Professor M. A. Wailare, has expressed profound sorrow over the passing of Malam Bala Abdullahi, the Head of the Department of Agricultural Technology, describing his death as a great loss not only to the college but to the entire academic community in Kano State.
In a condolence message issued on Monday, Prof. Wailare extended heartfelt sympathies to the family of the deceased, the government of Kano State, and the entire staff and students of ABCOAD.
“I extend my deepest condolences to the family, the Kano State Government, and the ABCOAD community over the passing of our dedicated staff member, Malam Bala. He was a committed academic, a humble leader, and a role model to both students and colleagues. May the Almighty forgive his shortcomings and grant him Jannatul Firdaus,” Prof. Wailare said.

Describing Malam Bala as a pillar in the institution’s academic framework, Prof. Wailare praised the late educator’s decades of service, passion for agricultural development, and unwavering dedication to student mentorship.
“Malam Bala was not just a Head of Department — he was a mentor, a guide, and a symbol of integrity in our college. His leadership in the Department of Agricultural Technology has left a legacy that will not be forgotten,” the Provost added.
He also emphasised the vacuum Malam Bala’s demise has created, noting that his absence will be felt deeply across the college, especially among staff and students who benefitted from his wisdom, discipline, and kindness.
Prof. Wailare prayed for Allah’s mercy upon the soul of the departed and urged his family and loved ones to find strength in the knowledge that Malam Bala lived a life of purpose, service, and honour.
“May Allah SWT comfort his family, reward his good deeds, and raise him among the righteous. At this difficult time, we pray for strength and healing for all those affected by this loss,” he concluded.
The late Malam Bala Abdullahi was a respected academic figure in Kano State and a core contributor to agricultural education and development in the region.
