Former Deputy Governorship candidate in Kano State, Alhaji Murtala Sule Garo has joined Muslim faithful in Nigeria to mark the Eid-el-Maulud.
12 Rabi Ul Awwal is the date on which Prophet Muhammad (SAW) was born and it’s celebrated by Muslims across the globe, as Islamic school children read and sing to celebrate his virtues.
Murtala Sule Garo urged all Muslims to use the occasion to reflect on the virtues of Islam as exemplified by the Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAW), including showing love for one’s neighbour, patience, honesty, empathy, kindness and generosity, among others.

Garo sympathized with Nigeria over the high cost of living in the country.
He said the primary responsibility of every government is the protection of life and property, urging leaders at all levels to come up with urgent interventions to ease the suffering in their states and the country at large.
Garo said, “Economic policies that will ensure material well-being of the poor, vulnerable as well as working people should be the priority of every government.
“Governments must create a favorable economic atmosphere for businesses to thrive. Job creation and employment opportunities for our teeming youth is necessary.
“The issue of almajiri is critical. Intervention that will better their lives and lift them off the street is vital at this moment.
“I urge Muslims to use Maulud gatherings to intensify prayers for stability and economic well-being.”
