Again, suspected gangs of Bandits have killed a school principal, one Mal. Idris Abu Sufyan, and kidnapped his wife and child in Kuriga community along the Kaduna-Birnin Gwari highway.
A reliable source in the community that the bandits invaded Sufyan’s house on Thursday night, shot him dead and whisked away his wife and son.
A friend of the victim, Sabiu Goyam, who confirmed the incident, shared pictures of the victims on his Facebook page on Friday.

The post reads, “Innalillahi wa Inna ilaihi raji’un. I feel sad to inform you that our noble colleague; the principal of GSS KURIGA (SNR). MAL IDRIS ABU SUFYAN, has been killed by bandits and also kidnapped his wife with a baby boy. May the Almighty Allah forgive his shortcomings and also grant him Aljannatul firdausi. Amen,” a colleague wrote on Friday.
Another resident, who sought to be anonymous, described the death of the principle as disturbing.
There has been no official reaction yet from the state Police Command Public Relations Officer, ASP Mansir Hassan, on the issue.
Hassan could not be reached by phone, and had not responded to the text sent to him on the killing.
The resurgence of kidnapping and bandits on Nigerian high way in recent times is casting doubt on the effort of the security apparatus to keep life and property of travelers especially those plying Kaduna-Abuja route safe.
Despite the recurrence of the ugly development, the Federal Government has urged citizens to desist from paying ransom for the release of victims of kidnapping.
