A 17-year-old herder, Abdulhamid Ahmad, has been reportedly stabbed to death in the Nbar community of Bokkos Local Government Area of Plateau State.
The state chairman of Gan Allah Fulani Development Association (GAFDAN), Garba Abdullahi, and the state president of Fulbe Youth Development Association (FUYODA), Umar Yusuf, told Peoplespen24 about the incident.
According to the GAFDAN Chairman, the herder was killed in the community while grazing.
He added that the corpse of the teenager was recovered by the personnel of Operation Safe Haven from Sector 5, a security task force maintaining order in the area.
The GAFDAN chairman said, “He was grazing in the afternoon when suddenly some youths attacked him, stabbed him with a knife, and dumped his corpse there. Our herders cannot move around with their cattle. They get killed at a glance.”
Peoplespen24 reports that there have been cases of isolated killings in some Bokkos communities, with five people killed so far in isolated incidents.
The spokesperson for Operation Safe Haven, Captain Oya James, didn’t respond to the inquiry on the matter by our correspondent.
However, the groups called on security agencies to take drastic measures before the situation gets out of hand.
