Traders Lose Properties Worth Millions of Naira to Inferno at Gwarzo Market

Hundreds of traders were reported to have lost their properties worth millions of Naira in a fire disaster that gutted many shops in Gwarzo town,Gwarzo local governmentmarket of Kano state

The fire incident happened last Monday has thrown the victims into critical condition as many of them were seen crying and lamenting the lost of their main source of daily livelihood.

Confirming the incident, spokesperson of Kano State Fire Service Comrade Saminu Abdullahi Sa’id, said the fire started midnight of last Sunday and it took men of the service several hours to put it off.

He explained that, dozens of shops were completely raze by the inferno , while properties worth millions of Naira were destroyed. Though, no life lost in the incident.

Rabiu Khalil who also corroborated the development said a victim, Dayyabu Lawan Bala said he lost properties worth 5 million, while calling for government support.

Among the early sympathizers, the statement said included the member representing Gwarzo Federal Constituency Hon Abdulahi Muazu Babangandu who donated the sum of five hundred thousand naira(#500,000) to victims of the inferno.
