A lifeless body of a 7-year-old Khalifa Saminu Saleh was discovered in a water canal at Kuruma community of Bunkure Local Government Area in Kano state.
This grim discovery comes six days after Khalifa was reported kidnapped by unknown individuals.
The harrowing ordeal began when Khalifa was reported missing a week ago in Rano local government, prompting a widespread search operation spearheaded by both authorities and concerned citizens.

According to a resident who chose to remain anonymous, Khalifa was last seen on his way to the mosque to perform Salatul Tarawih prayers, a routine he diligently followed given the mosque’s proximity to his family’s residence.
“I know the boy very well; he is about 7 years old and lived with his parents. His father, Alhaji Saminu Saleh, is a young businessman in Rano town,” the source shared, reflecting the tight-knit nature of the community.
Khalifa’s father, Alhaji Saminu Saleh, has been left devastated by the loss of his son, calling for a thorough investigation to uncover the circumstances surrounding Khalifa’s abduction and tragic demise.
When contacted, Spokesman of Kano police commission, Abdullah Haruna Kiyawa could not instantly ascertain the ugly development.
The police PPRO however sought time to investigate the development and promised to issue an update on the development.
