The Progressive Institute (TPI), a think tank of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has reiterated its commitment to reducing unemployment by transforming Nigeria’s educational system with 21st-century skills.
Speaking at a press briefing in Abuja, TPI Director General, Dr. Olanrewaju Adebayo, announced that the institute has developed a four-year strategic plan aligned with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, reflecting the aspirations of Nigerians.
“We are advancing Nigeria’s education system to integrate 21st-century skills. Globally, there is a severe shortage of skilled manpower. Our goal is to equip Nigerians with the necessary expertise so they can work abroad as expatriates, earn a decent living, and contribute to the nation’s economy.

“We want Nigerians to be respected professionals, not just laborers performing menial jobs, but skilled individuals making meaningful contributions to global development. This is a core mission of the institute,” Dr. Adebayo stated.
He further emphasized that President Tinubu is committed to establishing an ideological foundation for governance that aligns with the aspirations of Nigerians.
According to Adebayo, while the progressive ideology is a universal movement, it will be adapted to Nigeria’s unique socio-political context within the framework of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
“What is evolving now is a deliberate effort by President Bola Tinubu and the National Chairman of our party to create a structured ideological foundation for governance and the APC.
“To achieve this, the party leadership has assembled a diverse team of experts—including political scientists, journalists, professors, sociologists, and other professionals—who possess a deep understanding of Nigeria’s history, people, trajectory, and national aspirations,” he added.
