Security agents in Katsina State have arrested a woman identified as Aisha Abubakar, accused of transporting ammunition to terrorists.

The arrest was reported on Monday by security analyst and counter-insurgency expert Zagazola Makama, on its X handle.

According to Makama, the ammunition was discovered during a routine search of Aisha Abubakar’s luggage.

“The authorities discovered the ammunition in her luggage during a routine search,” he stated.

Initially, she denied any involvement in the illegal activity. However, she later confessed to her role.

“She initially denied involvement but later confessed to be transporting the ammunition to a terrorist group from Nassarawa State,” Makama explained.

Further interrogation revealed that she was en route to Yan Tumaki in Dan Musa Local Government Area of Katsina State.

“During the course of interrogation, the suspect confessed that she was heading to Yan Tumaki in Dan Musa LGA in Katsina State,” Makama wrote.

Makama emphasized the significance of this arrest in the broader context of counter-terrorism efforts. “The incident highlights the ongoing efforts to combat terrorism and the importance of vigilance in preventing the proliferation of illegal weapons,” he said.

This arrest underscores the continuous and critical efforts by security forces to thwart terrorism and maintain security in the region.
