Kano State, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has distributed food items patients on admission in government hospitals across the State.
The gesture is part of government compassionate response towards cushion the economic hardship in the land.
Flagging the distribution of the food items at Abubakar Imam Urology hospital, the Commissioner for Information Baba Halilu Dantiye stated that government is committed to delivering bags of rice and maize to hospital patients admitted across various healthcare facilities in the state.

Dantiye, who led the distribution of 10kg rice and 10kg maize to each patient on admission at the Infectious Disease Hospital (IDH) and Abubakar Imam Urology Centre on behalf of the Governor said the initiative was aimed at providing essential support to those in need during these difficult times.
The commissioner also led the distribution at General and Cottage Hospitals, Pediatric and Specialist Hospitals across the state.
Dantiye added that recognizing the critical importance of ensuring the well-being of all citizens, Governor Yusuf’s administration prioritizes initiatives that directly impact the lives of people in the state, particularly those facing health challenges.
The Commissioner explained that he was delighted to see the happiness on the faces of patients who benefited from Governor Abba Kabir’s palliatives and re-emphasized the government’s commitment to supporting vulnerable populations, especially during illness.
“We are dedicated to providing assistance wherever it is needed most. Our efforts today represent a collective commitment to standing alongside our fellow citizens during their times of need.
“By providing essential food items to hospital patients, we aim to alleviate some of the burdens they face and offer them a measure of comfort,” Dantiye added.
Conducting the rounds, the Commissioner, during the distribution of food items, was accompanied by the Chief Medical Officer, Infectious Disease, Dr. Johnson Ochibo, who stated that the distribution of palliatives to hospital patients underscores Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf’s unwavering dedication to the welfare of the people of Kano, adding that initiatives like these demonstrate the government’s responsiveness to the evolving needs of its citizens.
A statement by Sani Abba Yola, director Special Duties, Ministry of Information, said the distribution of the palliatives, was witnessed by Permanent Secretary, Special Duties Cabinet Office, Sunusi Abbas.
