National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, has declared that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu deserves a second term in office, citing bold economic reforms and visible progress within two years of his administration.
Ganduje made the statement on Sunday at a high-profile dinner organized by the National Agenda for Tinubu (NAFT) 2027, held in Abuja. The event was organized in honour of members of the APC National Working Committee (NWC) who were recently appointed to various federal boards by President Tinubu.
In his address, Ganduje praised the President’s reformist policies, especially the removal of fuel subsidy and the floating of the naira, describing them as courageous decisions that shifted Nigeria’s focus from consumption to productivity.
“Many were skeptical when President Tinubu removed the subsidy and floated the naira. But today, the results are evident,” Ganduje said. “Federal allocations to states have increased by over 300%, oil production has improved, the naira has strengthened, and Nigeria’s debt profile has reduced significantly.”

He also noted a reported 66% rise in capital inflows, stating that the economic gains demonstrate Tinubu’s leadership is steering the country in the right direction.
According to Ganduje, growing public support for President Tinubu to seek re-election in 2027 reflects confidence in his administration’s performance. As APC National Chairman, he expressed full support for the president’s second-term bid.
The event was attended by prominent political figures, including Mr. Abdul-Azeez Olajide Adediran, popularly known as Jandor, a former Lagos PDP gubernatorial candidate who recently defected to the APC. Jandor lauded Tinubu’s leadership, declaring the 2027 election “already a walkover.”

Dr. Lanre Adebayo, Director of The Progressive Institute (TPI), also spoke at the event, pledging continued support for the APC through progressive policy evaluation and midterm performance reviews aligned with the party’s ideology.
In his welcome remarks, NAFT Convener, Dr. Aliyu Ibrahim, described the dinner as a celebration of the APC’s internal cohesion and growing influence. He commended the appointments as recognition of the NWC’s contributions to national development.
The occasion also featured the official unveiling of NAFT’s insignia, reaffirming the group’s commitment to President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and its call for him to contest in the 2027 general election.
