The Nigeria Correctional Service, Kano Command has refuted the alleged varnish of popular female Tiktoker, Murja Ibrahim Kunya from its Gorondutse custody.

Kunya who was arrested last week and charged to court by the Kano Hisbah Board for public disturbance was remanded by a Sharia Khadi.

She was arrested following complaints from her neighbours over her alleged immoral behaviour which included public nuisances, attempts to corrupt and recruit young girls into prostitution and sharing explicit material and vulgar language on social media.

However, Kunya who was expected to appear before the Sharia Court was said to have disappeared from the correctional centre, a development that triggered public revolt.

Reacting to the development on Monday, the spokesman of the Kano Correctional Centre, Musbahu Kofar Nasarawa, said Murja Kunya did not escape from custody, but was released by the court.

Musbahu said the Tiktoker was released on Thursday, having spent two days in custody instead of seven days ahead of the adjourned date.

In an audio tape response, Musbahu said “It was a court that brought her to us for remand, and it was the same court that ordered us to release her,” he said.
